Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 5-7 box trucks and delivery vans for local and regional routes
- Maintain precise delivery schedules while adhering to DOT regulations and company protocols
- Complete thorough pre/post-trip inspections and document maintenance needs
- Load/unload freight using proper equipment and material handling techniques
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions and resolve issues proactively
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for real-time route optimization and ETAs
- Submit accurate delivery documentation and daily mileage logs
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience with verifiable references
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metropolitan area roadways and traffic patterns
- Pass background check and drug screening as per DOT requirements
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Basic computer literacy for digital logbook and delivery documentation
- Flexible availability for evening/weekend shifts (20-30 hours/week)
