Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate maintenance logs
- Create a secure, positive environment for students through consistent behavior management
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route changes or student concerns
- Assist students with boarding, exiting, and securing safety equipment during all stops
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established safety protocols
- Complete required documentation including incident reports and attendance records
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of safe driving experience with clean MVR (no DUIs, moving violations, or at-fault accidents in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs, and operate mechanical equipment
- Experience working with children/adolescents preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Must pass comprehensive background check
