Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transit and maintain a positive, secure environment
- Follow precise schedules and communicate delays to dispatch promptly
- Assist students with boarding/exiting, including those requiring special accommodations
- Complete accurate incident reports and maintain passenger manifests
- Adhere to all district policies and state transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
- Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate
- Minimum 2 years driving experience with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work effectively with children
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
