Responsibilities
- Safely deliver packages, food, and retail goods to residential and commercial addresses within Detroit city limits
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain customer signatures
- Load/unload vehicles efficiently while ensuring cargo security
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and handle inquiries professionally
- Adhere to traffic laws and safety protocols at all times
- Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Optimize routes for timely delivery using GPS technology
- Collaborate with dispatch team to resolve delivery exceptions
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience (delivery, rideshare, or commercial)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods
- Strong knowledge of Detroit neighborhoods and major roadways
- Reliable smartphone with data plan for delivery apps
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions (if applicable)
- Positive attitude and commitment to punctuality
