Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations within Indianapolis and surrounding areas
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any mechanical issues
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and securement protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as per DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and clients
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules while ensuring on-time performance
- Practice defensive driving and maintain a clean driving record
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Indianapolis metro roadways and logistics hubs
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
