Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, and soil across San Jose job sites
- Perform pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure vehicle compliance
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and local traffic laws
- Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure timely material delivery and unloading
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork for operational tracking
- Collaborate with ground crews to support efficient loading/unloading operations
- Report mechanical issues immediately and assist with minor repairs as needed
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy machinery
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong understanding of San Jose area roads and construction zones
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Physical ability to climb equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Must possess reliable transportation to designated dispatch locations
