Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vans to transport freight safely and efficiently to designated delivery points.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery logs.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel during pickups and deliveries.
- Keep the truck and cargo area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no recent DUIs or serious traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of local Richmond and Virginia roadways.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency for logging and communication.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
