Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently within the Portland metro area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement using straps and chains.
- Maintain accurate Driver's Daily Logs (DD-Form 1808) and all required paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized during and after shifts.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of local Portland traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual handling tasks.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain hazardous materials (Hazmat) endorsements if required.
