Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks on designated local delivery routes within the New York metro area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Safely load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Provide excellent customer service at delivery points, ensuring packages are handled with care.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route delays or traffic conditions.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) required.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT card) on file.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Basic understanding of GPS and navigation systems.
