Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles on local and regional routes within New Orleans and surrounding parishes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo per DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, speed limits, and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients and receivers at delivery sites.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, etc., as per route requirements).
- A clean driving record with no recent major traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of New Orleans roadways and logistics hubs.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks during loading/unloading.
- Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including early mornings or late afternoons.
