Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including Class A and Class B trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver logs (ELD) and delivery paperwork in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
- Adhere to company policies regarding drug and alcohol testing and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B (depending on vehicle type) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Current DOT medical card and DOT drug screen clearance.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Strong knowledge of local Long Beach and Southern California routes and geography.
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including early mornings or evenings as required by the schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive motions associated with loading/unloading.
