Responsibilities
- Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate commercial trucks and vans in strict accordance with traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Load & Unload: Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring all items are handled with care and proper documentation is completed.
- Route Management: Navigate efficiently through the Washington DC metro area and Florida routes, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of mileage, hours of service (HOS), and delivery logs using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure a high standard of service.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL License: Current Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform manual labor during loading/unloading operations.
- Availability: Willingness to work part-time hours, including early mornings, late evenings, or weekends as needed.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and GPS systems effectively.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening as per DOT regulations.
