Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all safety requirements and DOT regulations are met.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver logs (Electronic Logging Device - ELD) in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and potential delays.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies to maintain a clean driving record.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Pass a thorough background check, including motor vehicle record (MVR) and criminal history.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and communication purposes.
