Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely within Chicago city limits and surrounding areas
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Provide excellent customer service during delivery interactions
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team about route conditions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Familiarity with Chicago metropolitan area geography
- DOT medical certification
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement techniques
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
