Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial vehicles in a safe, defensive, and professional manner at all times, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Home Daily Schedule: Deliver goods within the Atlanta metropolitan area, ensuring you are home every evening after your shift.
- Load & Unload: Secure cargo properly and assist with the loading and unloading of freight to ensure items arrive in pristine condition.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any mechanical issues or damages immediately to management.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery receipts, mileage logs, and delivery statuses using our handheld systems.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and vendors, ensuring a high level of service and resolving any delivery issues on the spot.
- Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules efficiently to maximize productivity and ensure on-time delivery.
Qualifications
- CDL Required: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Driving History: Must possess a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years) and a current DOT medical card.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, pass a DOT physical examination, and meet vision and hearing standards.
- Availability: Must be available for Part-Time shifts (e.g., late afternoons, early mornings, or weekends).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD) and radio systems.
