Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Drive commercial trucks (Class A) on local and regional routes within Illinois and Pennsylvania, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Freight Handling: Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and documentation of all freight.
- Maintenance Checks: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete all required delivery and pickup paperwork (BOL, Bill of Lading) accurately and on time.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel, representing the company with a positive attitude.
- Route Adherence: Follow designated routes to ensure timely deliveries, making minor adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL: Must hold a current, valid Commercial Driverβs License (CDL Class A) issued by the state of residence.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUI/DWI convictions.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Hazmat Endorsement: Hazmat endorsement is a plus but not required for all positions.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old to operate interstate commerce.
- Documentation: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
