Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated delivery locations in the Chicago metro area.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured and protected during transit.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain signatures for all completed deliveries.
- Maintain accurate digital logs (ELD) and adhere to all federal and state DOT regulations.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Interact professionally with customers and warehouse staff to resolve any delivery issues.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B driver's license with required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to read maps, GPS systems, and delivery manifests accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive motions.
