Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial Class A vehicle to transport freight to various destinations within the Charlotte metro area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and securing equipment (chains, straps, etc.).
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict adherence to DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues and ensure on-time arrivals.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is mandatory.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen, background check, and physical examination.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues during the route.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Availability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
