Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate Class A trucks to transport goods to designated delivery points in and around Raleigh, NC.
- Load & Unload: Efficiently load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring all items are secured properly.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition; report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery records, in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and delivery sites, ensuring a positive brand image for Apex Logistics.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must hold a current and valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A).
- Driving Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (Class A preferred).
- Clean Record: Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.).
- Documentation: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening.
- Endorsements: Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are a plus but not required immediately.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to read maps and GPS systems.
