Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to deliver goods to designated locations within the Jacksonville metro area.
- Paperwork: Complete all necessary delivery documentation, including bills of lading and delivery receipts, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Loading/Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and customers during deliveries, answering questions and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal DOT regulations and company safety policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or DUIs within the last 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of driving experience in a commercial vehicle preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and possess good manual dexterity.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and understand maps and GPS systems.
- Availability: Must be available for part-time shifts, including weekends or early mornings as required.
