Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local and regional delivery routes in and around Detroit.
- Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and verify proof of delivery (POD).
- Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Communicate promptly with dispatch regarding delays, traffic, or mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Own reliable box truck or straight truck suitable for freight hauling.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial driving or owner-operator operations.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Willingness to pass a background check and drug screening.
