Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently on designated night routes throughout San Diego.
- Load & Unload: Secure cargo for transport and perform safe loading/unloading operations at customer sites.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with required endorsements.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no recent DUIs or serious moving violations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Experience: Proven experience in long-haul or regional truck driving.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (10-12 hour shifts).
