Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for overnight freight delivery across Jacksonville and surrounding areas
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure DOT compliance documentation is maintained
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment while maintaining inventory accuracy
- Optimize routes using GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team regarding route conditions and delivery status
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and adhere to Hours of Service regulations
- Represent Swift Logistics with professionalism at all customer interaction points
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Jacksonville metro area and Florida highway systems
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and defensive driving practices
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging and communication systems
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (typically 8 PM - 6 AM)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally as required by freight handling
