Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on assigned night routes throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securement.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging devices (ELD) and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and route changes.
- Uphold a professional image and company standards while representing Swift Logistics Solutions.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Clean driving record (MVR compliant) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) including weekends and holidays.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Basic knowledge of navigation tools and map reading.
