Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods throughout Washington DC metropolitan area
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Perform pre-trip inspections, basic maintenance checks, and accurate documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for real-time route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Maintain professional communication with clients and warehouse personnel
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of diverse freight types including hazardous materials
- Utilize GPS technology for efficient navigation and delivery optimization
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Washington DC traffic patterns and delivery regulations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety excellence
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of electronic logging devices (ELD) systems
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (typically 8 PM - 6 AM)
