Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods across San Diego County and surrounding areas
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance logs
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment while ensuring cargo security
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and communicate effectively with dispatch
- Practice defensive driving techniques and comply with all FMCSA regulations
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate vehicle servicing
- Maintain professional communication with clients and warehouse personnel
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of San Diego County routes and traffic patterns
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation software
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (typically 7 PM - 5 AM)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate loading equipment
