Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM) on designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Transport time-sensitive freight between Portland, OR and key California markets
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for real-time route optimization and delivery verification
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delays, weather conditions, or cargo issues
- Maintain professional appearance and customer service standards during all client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Pacific Northwest and California highway systems
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred (training provided if not certified)
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as operational needs dictate
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD) systems
