Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently operate Class A or Class B commercial trucks and trailers on local and regional routes within the New Orleans area.
- Inspection & Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (ELD/DOT), bills of lading, and delivery paperwork in strict adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Cargo Handling: Safely load and secure cargo, ensuring goods arrive at their destination in perfect condition and on time.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and DOT regulations to minimize risk and maximize safety.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel to resolve any delivery discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or Class B) with the required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Doubles/Triples preferred but not required).
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a clean MVR with no more than one preventable accident in the last 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial truck.
- Availability: Must be available to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and understand maps and delivery schedules.
