Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers over various road conditions during the night shift.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery times, miles driven, and cargo manifests.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) and no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Experience in night shift driving is highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues if necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
