Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks safely and efficiently on designated routes within the Detroit metro area and surrounding regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual techniques as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols during night operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) is mandatory.
- Ability to work flexible night shift schedules and weekends as required.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling (if applicable), and safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
