Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport packages and goods throughout Virginia Beach metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Load/unload packages efficiently using proper lifting techniques
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status
- Optimize routes to ensure on-time deliveries while minimizing fuel consumption
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience or equivalent training
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Basic smartphone proficiency for GPS and communication apps
- Ability to work independently in variable weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Flexible availability for evening/night shifts (typically 8 PM - 4 AM)
