Responsibilities
- Transport medical specimens, medications, and equipment between healthcare facilities with strict adherence to HIPAA and biohazard protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and temperature-controlled storage documentation for sensitive medical items
- Coordinate with hospital staff and clinic personnel to ensure timely pickups and deliveries across San Jose
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain fleet cleanliness in compliance with DOT regulations
- Utilize GPS tracking systems to optimize routes and provide real-time delivery updates to dispatch
- Respond to urgent delivery requests with flexibility and professionalism
- Safely handle fragile and temperature-sensitive medical products using specialized equipment
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical courier, logistics, or healthcare transportation
- OSHA bloodborne pathogen certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate hospital corridors with medical equipment
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet strict delivery windows
- Proficiency in using delivery tracking software and mobile communication devices
- Background check and drug screening clearance required
- Knowledge of San Jose area geography and major healthcare facilities
