Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, and critical supplies using temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain precise delivery schedules with GPS tracking and real-time updates
- Complete proper documentation including chain-of-custody forms and delivery confirmations
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and biohazard safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with healthcare facilities to resolve delivery issues or schedule changes
- Perform vehicle safety checks and maintain clean, organized transport equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and medical staff regarding delivery status
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record (3+ years)
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical transport experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate hospital corridors/elevators
- Strong time management with attention to detail in documentation
- Basic knowledge of medical specimen handling and temperature control
- Proficient with smartphone navigation and delivery tracking apps
- Reliable transportation to/from dispatch hub (downtown Detroit)
- Background check and drug screening required
