Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and lab supplies between healthcare facilities using climate-controlled vehicles
- Maintain meticulous chain-of-custody documentation and electronic tracking systems
- Adhere to strict HIPAA protocols and biohazard safety procedures at all times
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of courier equipment
- Coordinate with medical facility staff for efficient loading/unloading and delivery confirmations
- Monitor weather and traffic conditions to optimize delivery routes and timelines
- Report delivery exceptions or equipment malfunctions to dispatch immediately
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare logistics training preferred
- Ability to lift/move packages up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods
- Proficient with GPS navigation and electronic documentation systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Basic knowledge of medical packaging and specimen handling requirements
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Previous courier or healthcare transportation experience highly valued
