As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of packages and freight to residential and commercial clients throughout the Greater Boston area. If you have a clean driving record and a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Operate commercial delivery vans and trucks in a safe, courteous, and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Delivery Execution: Complete daily delivery routes efficiently, ensuring packages are delivered accurately and on time to the correct addresses in Boston and surrounding communities.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, handle packages with care, and resolve any delivery issues or questions on the spot.
- Loading & Unloading: Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing items to prevent damage during transit.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) at the end of each shift.
- Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A valid Class C Driver's License (Commercial Driver's License preferred but not always required for local routes).
- Clean Record: A valid driving record with no major violations or DUIs within the last 3-5 years.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, carry, and push packages weighing up to 50-70 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift; ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends.
- GPS Proficiency: Comfortable using handheld GPS devices and delivery management software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
