Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight to designated routes within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Interact professionally with customers, handling any delivery issues or complaints with a positive attitude.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork, including bills of lading and logbooks, accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and maintain a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a professional environment.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR check required).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform manual tasks during loading/unloading.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
