Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and efficiently on local and regional routes within the Columbus area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo security, proper weight distribution, and handling.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, including electronic logging devices (ELD) and DVIR.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Hours of Service regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to ensure timely delivery.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) and be insurable under our company policy.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate interstate commerce.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of lifting and maneuvering cargo and operating truck controls.
- Strong customer service skills and a commitment to safety.
