Responsibilities
- Perform safe and timely delivery of freight to customers in the Chicago metropolitan area and designated Ohio routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks) ensuring safety and security.
- Verify delivery contents against bills of lading and obtain necessary signatures.
- Practice exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor and communicating clearly.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in good working order.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle and adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 minor moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Eligible to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and standing for extended periods.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to navigate complex delivery routes.
- Previous experience in logistics, freight, or delivery is a plus but not required for entry-level applicants.
