Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles on assigned routes within Washington DC and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate promptly with dispatch and customers regarding schedule changes and delivery issues.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License required.
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Current Medical Card and DOT physical examination on file.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of local geography in the Washington DC area.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and paperwork.
