Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) for local and regional deliveries within the DC metropolitan area
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, and warehouse personnel
- Complete required documentation (bills of lading, delivery confirmations) with precision
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Familiarity with DC metro area roadways and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (Hazmat endorsement preferred)
