Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty commercial trucks over various road conditions, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working order.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and securing loads properly.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays.
- Follow strict time schedules to meet delivery deadlines without compromising safety.
- Keep the cab and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 5 years.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor truck repairs and troubleshooting.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
