Responsibilities
- Safe & Efficient Driving: Operate delivery vehicles in a safe, courteous, and timely manner across the Washington DC metropolitan area.
- Customer Service: Deliver packages to residential and commercial customers with a professional attitude and ensure all deliveries are made accurately.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Loading & Unloading: Safely load, secure, and unload packages, ensuring cargo integrity throughout the route.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, receipts, and mileage logs.
- Problem Solving: Resolve delivery issues on the spot, such as incorrect addresses or missed connections, with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A clean, valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in logistics is preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items (up to 70 lbs) repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and walk long distances.
- Vehicle Access: Must have reliable personal transportation to and from the depot (or possess a valid CDL if commercial driving is required).
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to navigate using GPS systems.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required by business volume.
