Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently on various job sites, including construction, mining, and road maintenance areas.
- Load and unload materials (sand, gravel, asphalt, dirt) using hydraulic beds or manual methods while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean driving record and obey all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and crew members regarding delivery times and job site requirements.
- Secure cargo properly and ensure the truck bed is clean and free of debris after each shift.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with a valid DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads, climb in and out of the cab, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of local road conditions in the Anchorage area and surrounding regions.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if necessary.
