Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) to transport goods to designated delivery points on time and within budget.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA and company safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo security, proper weight distribution, and securement.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, mileage, and fuel consumption using electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding route changes, delays, and delivery requirements.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
