Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight to local destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate safety equipment and techniques.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, timesheets, and vehicle inspection reports (DVIR).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery updates.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks.
- Willingness to work a part-time schedule, including weekends or early mornings.
