Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular events
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain strict adherence to traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and dispatch
- Respond professionally to emergencies and route deviations
- Complete accurate trip documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- School Bus Driver Certificate (SBD) and Passenger Endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Clear DMV driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical exam
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
