Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from schools, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and positive reinforcement
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Respond to emergencies with calm, trained procedures
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Clear driving record (no major violations in 5 years)
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical
- Child safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in various weather conditions
