Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain daily logbooks
- Implement student safety protocols including loading/unloading procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Respond to emergency situations following district safety protocols
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interiors
- Attend mandatory safety training and certification workshops
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger & School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Clean DMV record (no major violations within 3 years)
- Pass Department of Transportation physical and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if required
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background clearance through DOJ/FBI
