Responsibilities
- Safely secure and cover cargo using straps, chains, and tarps to ensure it remains intact during transport.
- Conduct detailed pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to comply with DOT regulations and maintain vehicle safety.
- Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) to maintain accurate logs and adhere to Hours of Service rules.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by handling billing, proof of delivery (POD), and customer inquiries professionally.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, speed limits, and company safety policies to prevent accidents.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks, including tire pressure, fluid levels, and brake functionality.
- Uphold the company's reputation by maintaining a clean driving record and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B (Class A preferred).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery schedules.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle adjustments.
