Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required) to transport goods safely and efficiently
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Plan optimal routes to meet delivery deadlines while minimizing fuel consumption
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and issues
- Complete required paperwork (BOLs, trip reports) accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Familiarity with North Carolina roadways and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including early mornings and weekends
